cancerpage.com was founded to harness the power of the Internet to help people better understand cancer and its treatment and to allow them to participate in a community in which they can find greater strength, knowledge and hope. cancerpage.com's mission is to inform, connect and empower consumers to lead healthier and higher quality lives when confronted with any form of cancer. cancerpage.com is the consumer's page for cancer: its philosophy and business practices are driven by putting the needs and concerns of the cancer patient first.
The cancerpage.com web site was launched in January 2000 as the new home for the cancer community online. Created for patients and their loved ones, cancerpage.com offers a trusted source for the latest news, research and information on prevention, detection and treatment. cancerpage.com is a complete cancer information and community resource. cancerpage.com is the most comprehensive web site for information on all aspects of cancer and includes direct access to oncology nurses. It is and will always remain a free service supported by sponsors.
cancerpage.com is service of Alere, a leader in disease management patient support services. Through its cancer program Alere manages care by overseeing the cancer treatment process and by attending to the clinical, practical and support needs of patients and their families. Ideally, Alere begins its work when a patient is diagnosed, ensuring that the right treatment plan is followed from day one. Alere's care managers, who are oncology RN's with an average of ten years' experience each, are available to patients, families, and providers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The care managers provide education, information, support, treatment coordination, and direction to community and support services.
