UTERINE CANCER
(Endometrial Cancer, Uterine Sarcoma)

There are a number of general steps you can take to minimize your overall risk of developing cancer. For example:

Smoking greatly increases the risk for lung and many other cancers. In addition, secondhand smoke harms those who breathe the smoker’s cigarette smoke. Therefore, quit smoking and don’t use smokeless tobacco products.

Avoid sunburn by reducing exposure to high-intensity UV radiation. (The sun is strongest from 11-3 each day.) If you must be in the sun, wear protective clothing and use effective sunscreen.

Eat a healthy, balanced diet that is low in fat, moderate in calories, and rich in fiber. This would include lots of fruits and vegetables, grains and bean, some lean meats and low-fat dairy products.
