SURVIVORS TO MEET AT WHITE HOUSE

Join the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship at the RAYS OF HOPE™ event on September 15th on the Ellipse of the White House in Washington, DC. RAYS OF HOPE is a day-long event of reflection and inspiration for all Americans, and a time to remember those we have lost to cancer. The annual celebration is hosted by Sam Donaldson and Scott Hamilton and brings together cancer survivors, caregivers, cancer advocacy organizations, Members of Congress, policymakers and celebrities. www.nccs-raysofhope.net.

CANCER LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

The Cancer Leadership Council is a forum for discussion and advocacy on issues related to cancer health policy from the patient-survivor perspective. The Council encompasses 29 national cancer nonprofit groups and focuses on joint policy and advocacy efforts. To remove barriers to participation in clinical trials, the group worked to change Medicare policies, which now pays for routine patient care costs in clinical trials. The Council's website is useful for state and local advocacy groups wanting to follow the latest national public policy debates. http://www.cancerleadership.org/index.html
