SURVEY SAYS SOME WOMEN CAN'T AFFORD HEALTH CARE
According to a recent survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation, one in five (21%) nonelderly women did not fill a prescription in the past year because they could not afford it. Cost of care was an especially significant problem for key groups of women and paying for prescription drugs was particularly challenging for many women, including 27% of women with Medicaid, and even 15% of privately insured women, who said they had not filled a prescription because of cost. See a summary, or the full report, or a webcast on this week's announcement of Women's Health in the United States.
